(The demo and the info on the forum are actually quite old now. I’ll work on updating those soon!)

My current main project is Tales of Nowhere: The Video Game. This game is based on the podcast Tales of Nowhere. Here is the podcast description from their website:

Join us every other Wednesday as we make our way through multiple Tabletop RPGs to tell the story of four charismatic heroes seeking to repair the multiverse. It’s a journey of epic proportions that will keep you laughing as you piece together the mystery of the world, its characters, and most importantly, that extra-dimensional Coffee Shop known as Cafe Nowhere.

As I listened to the podcast, I saw the world come to life in RPG Maker in my mind. I asked the creators if I could make a game based on the podcast and they were excited by the idea. (They’re an AWESOME group of people!) In the podcast, they take a group of characters through an adventure that spans multiple Tabletop RPGs. Each one is a different world the characters travel to. That translates great into a multi-genre video game!

I’m working to match each world of the podcast to a video game genre. For example, the first world they visit is in the Dungeons and Dragons tabletop RPG. So I’ve done the first video game world in a traditional jRPG genre. The second tabletop RPG is Call of Cthulhu, so in the game I’m patterning that world after the horror video game genre. So far it’s turning out great!

In addition to that, Joshua, the GM of the first season of Tales of Nowhere did some character art work for me to incorporate into the video game and it looks wonderful. Also, John Good, who composes the music for the podcast is letting me use the music for the video game as well.
